An Introduction to 'True Blue' from Insanity Wagon

An Intro to True Blue by Insanity Wagon!

Hello and welcome to the active development of True Blue!

We are making a top-down survival horror game set in the outback of Australia. We aim to create a thrilling experience dodging native animals and monsters in environments inspired by the 9 regions of Western Australia.

The story of our game is still VERY early in its development, but what we have settled on is a disease that plagues the country that mutates and distorts living beings. The player is much more resistant to it, but it doesn’t mean that they won’t be affected over time. The player will have to trek through the country to find that not everyone will be trustworthy, and not everything will look as it seems.

Our game is inspired by old/older styled horror games and others, such as;

  • Signalis
  • Resident Evil
  • Silent Hill
  • Darkwood

Our main key mechanics, though it is subject to change, is our insanity system. I won't go into it and spoil it just yet in this introduction, especially since we're still working through it, but we hope to potentially make something unique with it that will stress you out in a good way!

Meet the team: Insanity Wagon!

We all jump around with the roles a little bit but at it's core these are the main things we do as a team of 4!

  • Grace – Producer and Marketing Lead
The guy, the fella, the artist. Not only do they push the team to do our best, they are also creating most of our 2D art assets.
  • Lani - Design and Test Lead
The ultimate ideas guy! Our big bang. Designed the majority of the features and came up with the game. Also handles compiling test data.
  • Zen – Art Lead
Monster of mass creation, in charge of creating most of our 3D assets.
  • Cora – Tech Lead
Lord of code, the one who’s responsible for bringing everything to life. Akin to a mad god.

In other news...

We'll be updating you all on development at least once a week starting this week! As well as occasionally creating some general posts in-between, especially as we start our devlogs/blog and such here. The development of True Blue has already started for around half a year give or take and we'll be discussing how things have gone and will be going as we move forward.

Thank you following our development and/or showing interest in our project, and we hope to see you again in the future of our game True Blue!
